- ReceiveawrittencopyofthePatientandFamilyBillofRightsfromthereception.
- Receive impartial care that respects your personal values and beliefs from all staff without discrimination, in accordance with DHA rules and regulations.
- Receive comprehensive medical care aimed at achieving accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment of your illness and/or injury.
- Receive immediate medical attention in emergency situations.
- Know the identity (name and specialty) of the physician responsible for your care.
- Receive from the healthcare team, in a clear and understandable manner, comprehensive information about your – diagnosis, proposed treatment, any changes in your health status and causes of such changes, alternative treatment, probabilities of treatment success or failure, therapy advantages and disadvantages (if any), possible problems related to treatment and expected results of ignoring the treatment.
- Have access to an interpreter if language is a barrier to understanding your medical care.
- Have a person of the same sex present during certain parts of physical examination, treatment, or procedures performed by a health professional of the opposite sex.
- Not remain disrobed any longer than necessary for medical purposes. 10. Participate in decision-making related to your care.
- 11.Obtain a medical report and copies of your medical test results from the medical records section.
- 12.Enjoy privacy during all examinations, procedures, and treatments, and have the confidentiality of all your medical information maintained.
- 13.Choose your treating doctor (subject to availability), and have the right to reject the doctor by providing a genuine reason.
- Refuse treatment if you wish. The treating doctor must explain the medical consequences, and you will be required to sign a refusal form.
- Refuse examination or access to your treatment details by anyone not directly involved in your care, unless prior permission is granted by you.
- 16.Be protected fromany physical, verbal,or psychological abuseduring treatment.
- 17.Receive complete information from the treating doctor.
- 18.Haveafamilymemberorguardianaccompanyyou,dependingonyourhealthstatusand DHA regulations (note: some units may restrict this for medical reasons).
- 19.Receive a complete explanation regarding the need for transfer to another care center, including related responsibilities.
